Krutones® Tomato Soup

Ingredients
• 1 pkg. Southern Recipe Small Batch Krutones®, for topping
• 1 Tbsp. Butter
• 1 Tbsp. Olive oil
• 1 Onion, diced
• 3 Tbsp. Garlic, minced
• 3 (14 oz.) cans Whole tomatoes, with juice
• 1 cup Heavy cream
• 1/2 tsp. Red pepper flakes
• 1 tsp. Dried basil
• Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
1. In a large pot, melt butter with olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and sauté until onions become translucent.
2. Reduce heat to medium-low. Add tomatoes, heavy cream, red pepper flakes, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
3. Simmer for about 5 minutes to let the flavors meld.
4. Use an immersion blender (or transfer to a blender) to puree until smooth and creamy.
5. Ladle into bowls and top generously with Southern Recipe Small Batch Krutones®.
6. Serve warm and enjoy!
