Krutones® Tomato Soup

Krutones Tomato Soup


  • 1 package Southern Recipe Small Batch Krutones®, as a topper

  • 1 Tbsp. Butter

  • 1 Tbsp. Olive oil

  • 1 Onion, diced

  • 3 Tbsp. Minced garlic

  • 3, 14 oz cans Whole tomatoes (including the juice)

  • 1 cup Heavy cream

  • 1/2 tsp. Red pepper flakes

  • 1 tsp. Dried basil

  • Salt and pepper, to taste


  1. In a large pot, sauté the onion and garlic with the butter and olive oil, over medium heat. Stir continuously until the onions are translucent.

  2. Reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the tomatoes, heavy cream, red pepper flakes, dried basil, and salt & pepper.

  3. Stir the soup mixture together. Let the soup cook down for about 5 minutes.

  4. Use a blender or emersion blender to blend the soup until there are no longer chunks.

  5. Ladle the soup into a bowl.

  6. Sprinkle with your Krutones®. Enjoy!
