1 package Southern Recipe Small Batch Krutones®, as a topper
1 Tbsp. Butter
1 Tbsp. Olive oil
1 Onion, diced
3 Tbsp. Minced garlic
3, 14 oz cans Whole tomatoes (including the juice)
1 cup Heavy cream
1/2 tsp. Red pepper flakes
1 tsp. Dried basil
Salt and pepper, to taste
In a large pot, sauté the onion and garlic with the butter and olive oil, over medium heat. Stir continuously until the onions are translucent.
Reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the tomatoes, heavy cream, red pepper flakes, dried basil, and salt & pepper.
Stir the soup mixture together. Let the soup cook down for about 5 minutes.
Use a blender or emersion blender to blend the soup until there are no longer chunks.
Ladle the soup into a bowl.
Sprinkle with your Krutones®. Enjoy!
