Hot Chile Fried Egg

Chile Egg


  • 2 Tbsp. Southern Recipe Small Batch Hot Honey Pork Rinds, crushed

  • 1 1/2 cups Vegetable oil

  • 4 Shallots, finely sliced

  • 1 tsp. Garlic, minced

  • 1/4 cup Red pepper flakes

  • 3 Cinnamon sticks

  • 1 Tbsp. Ginger paste

  • 1 Tbsp. Soy sauce

  • 2 tsp. sugar

  • 1 Egg


  1. In a large frying pan, sauté the oil, shallots, cinnamon, and garlic at a low simmer for 20-25 minutes (until the shallots are golden brown). 

  2. Add the red pepper flakes, ginger paste, soy sauce, and sugar to the pan, and continue to stir for 10 minutes. Set aside.

  3. In a separate frying pan, fry one egg. Pour about one tablespoon of the hot chile mixture over the egg while cooking. 

  4. Top the finished egg with crushed Southern Recipe Small Batch Hot Honey Pork Rinds. Enjoy!
